Repairs
When photos are stuck inside and you cannot close the drawer...
Please read all of the following instruction before starting.
Warning:
DO NOT attempt to disassemble the unit - you will ruin the unit for sure, and it will not be covered under the warranty! The best thing to do when you have photos stuck inside is to send the unit to us. We will carefully remove the photos and return both the photos and the unit to you at no charge (you cover the shipping back to us, and we cover the shipping back to you). Alternatively, IF AND ONLY IF you are VERY GOOD with your hands and are used to working DELICATELY (ask your spouse if this description fits you!), you can try the following:
Disclaimer:
Any self-repairs involve certain risk of damage. We will not warranty any damage resulting from any such attempted repairs, even if you have followed the instructions outlined here exactly. Therefore, if after reading the following instructions, you do not feel confident in doing the repair yourself, please send the unit to us for repair rather than risking damage to the unit.
-
Take a thin metal ruler and put a thin piece of double-sided tape, about 1/4" to 1/2" square, near one end of it. The tape needs to be quite sticky - carpet tape seems to work well.

- With the drawer completely pulled out, remove any photos in the drawer tray.
- Look inside the frame and see if the photos are stacked evenly. If there are photos sitting inside on an angle, try using your pinky to even them out. We want the photos inside stacked evenly before we begin the next step.
- Lay the unit face-down on a smooth surface. With one of your hands, gently lift up the plastic bar that is used to carry the photos just enough so that you can slide the metal ruler in with the other hand. The ruler should be inserted with the sticky side facing down, underneath the plastic bar, into the area where the photos are sitting.

- When the ruler with sticky tape is over the top of the photo, press the ruler gently downward to make it stick to the photo.

- With one hand, gently lift up the plastic bar that is used to carry the photos, and with the other hand, gently pull the ruler out, removing the photo with it.

- Once the photo has been drawn out far enough for you to grab with your fingers, go ahead and use your fingers to gently pull out the photos, while still gently lifting the plastic bar to prevent any damage to the photos.
- Repeat steps 3 through 6 if there is more than one photo stuck inside.
Examine the photos and determine which ones may have caused the problem and do not use them in The Magic Frame.
